Notarising a document
If your documents need to be used abroad, notarisation is often a legal requirement. Therefore, we provide a full range of notarial services, including witnessing signatures, certifying copies of original documents, and notarising company paperwork.
Furthermore, you can either visit our convenient Waterloo office or, for greater flexibility, arrange a mobile appointment.
Apostille a document
To legalise a UK document with an apostille, the process must go through the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in Milton Keynes.
The Legalisation Office carefully verifies that the signatures, stamps, or seals on your document correspond with their official records. In addition, we make this process easier by offering convenient collection, delivery, and postal options.

Consular Attestation (Embassy)
After your documents have been notarised and apostilled, they may also require further legalisation by the consulate of the country where they will be used.

About Notary Public London
We’ll guide you through every step of the process so you can overcome obstacles with ease and complete your notarial requirements successfully, giving you peace of mind.
Our notary office is conveniently located at SE1 8ND, London, just a 5-minute walk from Southwark Underground Station.
We are also within easy walking distance of Waterloo Station and Blackfriars Station, making access simple from across London.
For reference, you’ll find us just behind the OXO Tower on the South Bank.
iNotary Public is a flexible and modern company, whose whole ethos is based around our clients.
Many notarial practices in the UK are quite dated and do not suit today’s modern business environment.
We work hard to ensure that not only are our client’s requirements met, but that this is done with the minimum fuss and distraction to our clients.
iNotary appreciate that our clients have busy schedules and deadlines to work to.
We monitor our inboxes and phone lines closely, and as a result, we aim to respond to every enquiry as quickly as possible. Whether you reach out during regular office hours or over the weekend, you can expect a prompt reply.
Notarising a single document usually takes around 30 minutes. During your appointment, our Notary Public, Steven Dasgupta, will verify your identity by passport and proof of address, prepare and seal the notarial certificate, and complete the client record.
Notarisations are usually completed on the spot in our comfortable offices. You will then receive a hard copy of your notarised document, along with a scanned copy sent directly to your email and a receipt of payment. If your documents require additional legalisation — such as an apostille or consular attestation — the process may take longer.
Depending on the country where your document will be used, you may also need an official apostille certification from the UK Legalisation Office (FCDO).
Your apostille can usually be obtained within 48 hours. Once ready, you can either collect it from our Waterloo office, or we can arrange secure delivery via DHL Express or Royal Mail Special Delivery.
